An entertaining and interesting presentation from Mark Coombes about the 10,000 acre Brudenell Estate and Deene Park historic House and Parkland. Brudenell Estates have undergone rapid change over the last two years and the talk covered the aspects of running a modern rural Estate, it’s various enterprises and how technology is being used to manage the portfolio. Mark also talked through the proposed Tresham Garden Village (one of 16 recently awarded Garden Village status by the Government) a modern and vibrant take on an Estate Village within the Rockingham Forest. The scheme, located on the Deenethorpe Airfield comprises of approximately 1,500 houses, will be an exemplar Village and the aim is to create homes as well as work space that contribute positively to the local community.
The talk also covered how Brudenell Estates are working on improving their Visitor offering through diversifying into events and weddings. Integrating into the wider community for the Estates is important to the Estate. Mark spoke about the relationship the Estate has with Lodge Park Academy and there was discussion on how the Estate and the wider business community can help pupils with work experience and business mentoring.
